Wide Sealing Head

December 5, 2005 - Lepel Corp., the originator of Cap-Sealing systems, announces availability of new design "Wide Sealing Head".

Historically, in order to achieve complete and uniform sealing of the wide mouth containers, including a good wax release and absorption into the backing, the sealing heads have had to be skewed. This, in essence, provided scanning of the cap, assuring that all of the cap sections received approximately the same amount of induction coupling, and therefore, heating energy. Without this scanning process, the caps would be non-uniformly heated with poor results.

The "Wide Sealing Head" is designed for efficient heating of caps with diameters from 58 mm through 130 mm. The conveyor speeds depend on the cap and liner construction, as well as the container content. Using the two-part liner material, we achieved the speeds, WITHOUT SKEWING THE HEAD, in excess of 175 feet per minute, with complete wax release and uniform sealing pattern around the lip of the containers.

Smaller cap diameters can be sealed with the same head, but at the considerably lower conveyor speeds.

Lepel Application Lab will be happy to run your samples and give you a complete report on the optimum sealing head for your job.
